February 24th changed the reality for Ukraine, and the horrors that have been inflicted on the people by Putin’s Russia is devastating. Simply, it should not be possible in 2022. Yet somehow, we once again see the cruel nature of war. Life paused. Homes ruined. Dreams and families shattered. And at the core of it, innocent, peaceful civilians are made to suffer the most. They suffer while they fight for their values of democracy and independence. Values which also we hold close to our hearts at Gigapay.
When we embarked on building Gigapay, it was our shared values of collaboration, independence and accessibility that brought us together. We believed that if true innovation was to take place, these values needed to be at the forefront. This is why we cannot remain silent observers while we see these same values being attacked and held hostage by Putin’s Russia through the atrocities of war and terror against the Ukrainians.
We want to show our solidarity to those bravely protecting their homeland. To those fleeing to protect their kids and loved ones from raging war. To those who believe in democracy and independence of Ukraine. That is why we have decided to support UNHCR and the work they are doing in Ukraine. As a company we will donate 3% of our net revenue for March, and I will personally be donating my March salary to the same cause. We urge those companies and individuals who can, to do the same.
